This event honored the cities of Alhambra, Claremont, El Monte, and San Marino for their work on various energy efficiency projects over the past year. Industry Hills, CA LED Holiday Light Exchange In 2009, SGVEWP offered to SCE residential customers located in the San Gabriel Valley the opportunity to exchange their incandescent holiday light strings for LED holiday light strings for free. LEDs are exceptionally energy efficient and use up to 90% less energy than a comparable incandescent bulb. The amount of electricity consumed by just one 7-watt incandescent bulb could power 140 LEDs—enough to light more than four 10-foot LED strings. State of Utilities Breakfast San Gabriel Valley community leaders joined together at this newsworthy forum to hear industry utility executives address regional issues impacting electric, gas, and water. Remarks were also provided by San Gabriel Valley Legislative Caucus Chair, Assemblymember Ed Hernandez, O.D.and Vice-Chair, State Senator Bob Huff. Tuesday, November 17, 2009
